Feathers of Grace breeds several mutations of Quaker Parrots (Myiopsitta monachus).  They have many names such as Monk Parrot, Monk Parakeet and Quaker Parakeet.  Check our website frequently for babies as these go fast.  We have green, blue, dark eyed cinnamon green and red eye cinnamon blue available.  Quakers are around 12 inches long.  Their speech isn’t as clear as the larger birds but they have the capacity for a large vocabulary. A leading bird magazine has them in the top ten talking birds. They are very intelligent and fun.  Ours can say many phrases and can laugh and say “you’re so funny”. They will say good morning and good night at the right time of the day.    They are the only parrot that builds stick nests so it is amusing to give them different things and see them build.  They can live up to 30 years so they are a long term commitment.  Your Quaker will be healthier on a pellet diet with fresh vegetables (no avocados), fresh fruits, legumes, whole grains and pasta for a variety.  Quakers are illegal in some states.
